It's been awhile...

I am getting re-aquainted with my blog. I decided that it is about time to do a little updating. Much has happened since my last post 4 months ago. Danny turned 7, Addyson turned 4, Colton turned 3 months, 4 months, and 5 months, we have had Thanksgiving, Christmas and lots of stuff in between. I am convinced that the more kids you have, the faster time goes. I can't believe that my little Colton is going to be 6 months old in a couple of weeks. Didn't I just find out I was pregnant????? Danny and Caleb were thrilled to be out of school for 2 weeks for "winter break" (or for us folks who believe in Jesus call it......CHRISTMAS) and I loved having them home with me. Today was the dreaded day that they had to return and my house was quiet. I missed them and so did Addyson and Colton. We had fun this Christmas season. We did a Christmas activity everyday. Somedays it was big, like making a Christmas pillow to sleep with and other days it was low key like watching Polar Express and drinking hot chocolate with their own personal hole punch of course. We had a good Christmas. We found this great thing to do as our activity leading up to the big day. It is called What God wants for Christmas. It is from the makers of the resurrection eggs. It is basically the same concept. It was super fun and the kids LOVED it. They learned so much about what happened surrounding Christs birth. I was amazed at how much they retained. Here is the website. I purchased mine at Lifeway.

I will post some pics of the kiddos over the last couple of months. Danny had his first sleep over in October for his 7th birthday. It was tons of fun. We surprised him with a moonwalk and I am not sure who liked it more, me and Danny or the kids. What a special time. I am blessed to be his mom.
Addyson had a little gym party. Super fun as well.....and super easy. Little Gym parties are definetly the way to go if you are "partied out". They did everything for me and all the kids had a wonderful time. For my family October is a crazy month since we have 4 birthdays in our family not to mention my sister as well. Little Danny is the 1st, I am the 6th, Addyson is the 14th, my sis is the 15th, and Danny si the 20th. So, all help is welcomed for parties that month. By the time we get to Danny's b-day we are partied out. It is a definite weight gain month for me since I LOVE birthday cake. WHITE birthday cake with buttercream icing to be exact.
Thanksgiving was good stuff. It is always nice to spend time with family. We traveled to Dannys family in Shiner and then went to Corpus to see my parent as well. We have alot to be thankful for. I feel so blessed to have 4 healthy children and a wonderful husband.
Danny and I also started AWANA's with the kids as Cubbie leaders. I have such a great time helping these little 4 year olds learn God's word. I am amazed every Sunday at what they can learn. It makes Sundays so crazy but at the end of AWANA's we always walk out feeling so blessed to be a part of these little kids learning how to hide God's word in their heart. And it is soooo much fun to watch our kids learn the verses and be so proud that they are learning the Bible. Good stuff for sure. If your kiddo is not involved in an AWANA program, find one to join! You can join at anytime during the year. You can go the www.AWANA.org website to find a program near you.
My New Years resolution is to blog often so hopefully this will get me caught up so I can start fresh now.....until my next blog.....

Happy New Year!

Colton at 4 months

I have to share my precious little boy laughing at his favorite word. I discovered that he likes the word "duck" while giving him a bath a couple of weeks ago. He is so funny....

A break from the heat

This week the weather has been beautiful and we have been enjoying it. We have been getting up a little bit earlier than normal and walking to school. It has been wonderful. This morning we passed by the ducks and fed them before going to school. It was a nice treat for everyone, including the ducks since they were very hungry. The kids enjoyed one fun slide on the playground at school before first bell rang. I love our neighborhood and feel very blessed to be able to enjoy such fun amenities.

School time fun

This week our school started having back to school activities. I can't believe that school time is here already. It makes me so sad and excited for the boys. danny is a big first grader this year and Caleb is a kindergartener. Two kids in school is a bit overwhelming. I pray that they have been placed in classrooms that will be the best fit for each of them and that they have a safe schol year. One tradition that I started last year is praying with the kids before they get out of the car. I tried to enter the car pool line early so that we could sit in the car and have prayer time about the day and for the kids safety throughout the day and of course that the Lord would surround Danny and Caleb with kids that have kind words. I will continue that. The Lord answered my prayers daily and brought our family back together safely at the end of every day. Danny and Caleb have such sweet hearts. They are crazy boys in alot of ways but when you peel back the "boy" side of them you see the wonderful ways that they are made with their sweet spirits. I hope that shines through at school. I am lucky to be their mom. I don't always have all the answers to be the perfect parent that I would love to be, but I love both of them so much and I pray that they remember that when they are away at school. Sorry so sentimental......I just had a baby and both my big boys are going to school.....that's not good for the hormones.
We are all looking forward to a great and fun school year.

The naked truth of a mom's day-not for squeamish tummy's

Well, yesterday I was going to venture out and have lunch out with all the kiddos. I got up early and was sure to plan Coltons feeds so it would be perfect and I wouldn't have to breastfeed in public. I bathed all the kids and myself and got everyone dressed so cute. This may seem like a small accomplishment for some but for me on this day it was not a small task with a 3 week old baby. I was thrilled to be getting out of the house. Chick fil A was my desired destination. Our morning went perfect, all the kids were happy, healthy and playing well together. We started our drive down 290 to chick and we were only 2 minutes away when the plans went SOUTH! As I gazed so lovingly at my kiddos all buckled in the back seat I would have never dreamed that I would have witnessed what started happening. My sweet sweet Caleb went from laughing and having fun to projectile vomiting in the car. It was like slow motion. I could see my baby getting sick all over the place and I couldn't stop to help him at that point and the smell was just the start of what I had to clean in the car. Luckily despite the other kiddos gagging from the odor on one else got sick....AMEN! WE obviously turned around and Danny met me at home. He was like my knight in shining armor pulling up the driveway in his truck and lifting my pukey kiddo out of the car. What a wonderful husband! He took Caleb and hosed him off with the water hose......at that point that was the only option due to the circumstances. I started to clean out the car. The doctor said he has strep throat. He doesn't get fever, sore throat, or any of the other usual symptoms for strep......just vomit! Lovely.
I am glad to report that my car is clean and disinfected and odor free and most importantly Caleb is feeling much better today! Maybe next time we will try McDoanlds.
