Colton Lane Cimerhanzel

Well, Colton must have read his eviction notice early. I was scheduled to be induced the 23rd at 7am but Colton decided to make his appearance ealry and came on July 18. I went into labor at 3:30am and by 5:30 my contractions were 5 minutes apart. My neighbor and sweet friend took the kids at 6:30 in the morning so we could get to the hospital. My labor progressed smoothly and was wonderful (along with my epidural) and by 2:14 my sweet sweet baby was born. He is perfect and although he was my biggest baby he seems soo small. He weighed 7lbs 11oz. Chubba Chubba. Just in case you are wondering how he measures up to the other kiddos....Danny weighed 5lbs 0oz, Caleb weighed 6lbs 7oz, and Addyson weighed 5lbs 6oz. SO, my little Colton was not so little. Oh but he is so precious. I had such a big gap between Addyson and Colton that Colton feels like my first baby again. He is healthy and beautiful and I am so excited that he is here. I just stare at him and grow more in love with him everyday.
My mom stayed with the kids while we were at the hospital and I know she was exhausted after she left. I was so thankful to have her here and know my kids were having a great time. She brought the kids to the hospital and they were thrilled to see and meet Colton. Finally a face to the name. Caleb let me know that my stomach was not any smaller like I said it would be after the baby came out......so cruel. They are all sweet with Colton but of course Addy being a girl has taken to trying to mother him. It is sweet.
Danny's family came and saw Colton and it was fun being able to share him with them. They were sweet enough to bring us food and baby "goodies". Everybody loves babies!!
I am thankful that everything turned out so great with our baby Colton. Danny has been wonderful through this entire process and I could not have asked for a better husband and father during all this. He has such wonderful ways and has stepped in and done everything I have needed him to do without my even asking for help. I know that Colton came at just the right time and I am thankful for him and for my entire family.

Tea Party

The kids had a little tea party today. It was very low key, only water and cookies but I guess when you let them set up the table with their play kitchen stuff it makes all the difference. The boys were good sports and were happy to have a tea party with their sister. Although they called it a picnic instead of a tea party. It is so hot that we have spent more of this Summer indoors rather than outdoors.

A step backwards

Well, my doctor appointement was this morning and I was shocked by my appointment. I truely didn't think it was possible to take a step backwards with my effacement and dilation but guess what.....it happened. I guess the nurses at the hospital were being very generous when I went into L&D this weekend to get checked. They (being 2 different nurses) said I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. When my doc checked me today he said NO WAY. I was a good 1cm dilated and maybe 15% effaced. Good stuff. Nothing like going backwards when I have been working towards going forwards. I spent my entire pregnancy praying for 38 weeks and I guess the Lord is answering my prayers. I will sit back and enjoy the ride and work real hard at not being impatient. We are going to schedule an induction for next week and I am happy about that descision. I will post when I know my scheduled induction day and time. Until then.....

And still waiting....

37 weeks and holding strong. I had a weekend of 2 L&D visits. I lost my mucous plug and went in 2 times thinking I was ready to go. But NO NO NO NO NO. My mom came down on Saturday cuz the nurse at the hospital thought I would be back that night since I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. But since nothing happened the remainder of the weekend she left this morning at 4:30am so she could get to work in Corpus. Most people would not think that I am overdue and I know that I am not but it sure feels that way to me. I have a doctor appointment Tuesday at 10:30 so I can see what changes I have made. We'll see........

Waiting......

Well, I am actually 36 1/2 weeks and still pregnant. I feel like I am past due because historically I have already delivered by this point. I had a doctor appointment on Tuesday and the doctor examined me. I am shocked and discouraged to say that I am not even a finger tip dilated and not effaced AT ALL! My weight gain has stopped and I really haven't gained anything in the past 3 weeks. My doc said that is very common in the last month of pregnancy but not so much during weeks 33-36. On top of that my abdobmen has not really gotten that much bigger so he was a little worried. He sent me over to L&D to be monitored and get an ultrasound to check baby growth and fluid level. The baby looked great. He is measuring at 7lbs. I have never had a baby that big before. Caleb was my biggest at 6lb 7oz. It was great to see his sweet face on ultrasound. We walked out feeling very relieved that everything checked out to be good. So, now we are just waiting and analyzing every cramp and braxton hicks that comes my way. I pray that the baby comes in God's perfect timing but if the baby is healthy, soon would be great. If I am still not dilated by my next Tuesday's doctor appt then I will start wallking and eating some spicy foods. Hopefully the next post will include pictures of our precious Colton Lane.

4th of July

We decided to take a journey to the beach early in the morning and let the kids play in the sand and ocean. WE had a good time. We didn't stay for long. We got to the beach at around 9 or 9:30 and we were gone by 11am. It is just too stinkin' hot even with the ocean water to cool you off.
We celebrated the 4th of July by attending the 4th of July parade in Fairfield and we got TONS of candy. That night we had 2 neighbors over to pop fireworks and eat snacks. It was a nice time. We had a total of 8 kids running around. We had water balloons and silly string and glow sticks and of course fireworks. It was great fun
